Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Rashon is a product of the Elizabeth Public School System. Rashon and his brother were raised by their mother Janis C. Mickens, a single parent who always committed to instilling the importance of education.
Rashon excelled academically and athletically and received a scholarship to Wichita State University. Rashon went on to receive a degree in education and continued to pursue his master’s degree in educational leadership from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA.
Rashon has taught in both MA and NJ school systems. He became Vice-Principal and then Principal of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ where he has served for 12 years. Rashon currently serves as an Executive Special Assistant with the High School Leadership Network at Newark Public Schools.
